After the USA's tie with France in Auckland, the team was treated to a BBQ at a beautiful beach next to the house of the USA's top notch team liaison officer Andrea, a native Kiwi who lived in the United States for 10 years. The players had a good old fashioned American cookout and were treated to loads of fireworks as it was apparently Guy Fawkes Day. We're not quite sure of the holiday, but it had something to do with a Gunpowder Plot and failed assassination of King James I of England in the early 1600s. All we know is that it meant a lot of cool fireworks, some good food and a wonderful views. Unfortunately, it was dark already when the YNT Blog snapped this pick of Hayley Brock and Sam Mewis. It started raining towards the end of the evening, so that cut the fireworks a bit short as the players rushed back to the bus to head home after an eventful day.
