There was yet another round of excellent games today in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, which has continued to show remarkable quality of play and inspiring commitment from all the countries. Germany got a surprisingly tough challenge from Ghana, but prevailed 3-2 while Costa Rica hung tough with North Korea and lost just 2-1. New Zealand put in fantastic second half effort against Denmark only to fall agonizingly short, 2-1, on two excellent goals from the Danes, eliminating the hosts from quarterfinal contention. In the other Group A game, an increasingly impressive Colombia tied Canada, 1-1. Another four great matches from Groups C and D are on the slate for tomorrow.
