The U.S. team took a short walk after dinner down to Takapuna Beach to stretch their legs and take in the beautiful views. The wide expanse of beach was covered in a massive amount of seashells and there were quite a few people out walking their dogs of all shapes and sizes (Collies, poodles and chocolate labs were all spotted). The players breathed some ocean air, dipped their toes in the surf and took a bunch of pictures. It was a great way to relax the night before a big game. Midfielder Elizabeth Eddy, who is on the surf team at Newport Harbor HS, looked especially at home at the ocean's edge, even if their weren't any waves.
Courtney Verloo, Morgan Brian and Mandy Laddish just love the beach.
