Arrival in Christchurch

The U.S. team arrived in Christchurch on Nov. 10, taking the short flight south from Hamilton after defeating South Korea there in the quarterfinal on Nov. 9. The U.S. players had heard that the weather in Christchurch had been nasty, but so far the team has experienced two stunningly beautiful days. We guess when the Kiwis tell us that we can experience all four seasons in one day, they are not joking around. The team is staying downtown in this charming city that has a small river running through the middle and right by the team hotel, making for some fantastic scenic views if you are up for a nice walk. Christchurch is not nearly as big as Auckland, but has about twice the size population of Hamilton, so the players are getting to experience some of the electricity of a city along with the usual beauty found almost everywhere in NZ.
