Botanical Stretch

Mandy Laddish and Sam Johnson get in a bit of stretching
The day the USA arrived in Christchurch, the team took a nice walk to reknowned Botanic Gardens to do some stretching, and for the players that didn't play against South Korea, a little extra fitness. The Botanic Gardens were actually founded in 1863 and now feature one of the finest collections of exotic and native plants found in New Zealand. There were some massive trees - many over 120 years old - and the team's walk to and from the Gardens by the river was a perfect way to cap the travel day.

The Avon River runs right by the team hotel. You can take a boat ride on it for $20 NZ
